Yeah, I gotta say that having my Olympia AST jacket that is waterproof is so nice, especially on my last two trips. Last year I was getting real jealous of Matt on our Alaska trip when everytime we had to stop so I could put rain gear on, all he did was cover up his tank bag and change gloves. My Triumph gear I was wearing on that trip was actually suppossed to be waterproof, but I didn't have any faith in it. My Olympia jacket is definitely waterproof.

I do agree Aaron though, it's really too hot in the summer for some of the waterproof gear. My AST does okay if it's not 90+. The Frogg Toggs are so much nicer then the PVC type rain suits that you absolutely die in once it stops raining. Atleast the Frogg Toggs are tolerable.

I think going down the Casier was the worst for the rain just due to how cold it was. Doesn't keep me from wanting to go back though.

I'm not sure there is any gear that is really comfortable at 90+ If you keep moving I've found textile isn't that bad, but for in town stuff mesh does help some. Frogg Toggs+mesh is probably the best compromise, but it's still not a good one.

My Frogg Toggs were tolerable yesterday, but only because the rain was cold and whatever was resting on my suit kept me from suffering a steam bath under the suit. I believe the rain to be much more tolerable in cold weather than in warm.
